Attic Flooring Installs Christchurch

Attic flooring installation in Christchurch and Canterbury. Create safer, tidier roof space storage with 18mm MDF or plywood flooring, framing and attic stair access.

Make Your Roof Space Actually Useful

Attic flooring is a great way to make your roof space more useful without turning it into a full-blown upstairs apartment.

A properly framed and sheeted attic storage area gives you a safer, tidier platform for storing everyday household items like boxes, suitcases, Christmas decorations, seasonal gear, and all the random things you swear you’ll use again one day.

We usually install around 8m² of attic flooring, which is a practical size for most  homes. Some homeowners choose to increase this to around 12m² if they have a larger roof space or want extra storage.

Our attic flooring is installed around your attic stair opening and framed to suit your existing roof space, creating a more usable area while keeping the install tidy, secure, and suited to your home.

Important Note
Attic flooring is designed for general household storage, not as a bedroom, office, man cave, or secret teenager retreat. We can advise what is practical once we see your roof space, framing layout, and access.

Attic Flooring Options

  • 18mm MDF attic flooring
Our standard option is 18mm MDF, which creates a smooth, strong and tidy surface for general roof space storage. It is a practical choice for boxes, suitcases, Christmas decorations and household items.

  • Plywood attic flooring
Plywood is also available if preferred. It is a more expensive option, but some homeowners prefer it for extra durability or where they simply want a timber sheet product rather than MDF.

  • Framing to suit your roof space
Where needed, we install framing to support the attic flooring properly and create a safer, more usable storage area around your new attic stair opening.
